The holiday has been (unofficially) celebrated since
1952 when the National Secretaries declared a National Secretaries Day to
show appreciation to members of the office workforce. In 2000, the
International Association of Administrative Professionals changed the
holiday to the Administrative Professionals Day and also added the
Administrative Professionals Week to adhere to the changing environment of
today's workplace.
This is a day set aside to show our appreciation for those in the
workforce we call "secretaries." No, we might not have one
of our own, and they might be called "admins"
"administrators" these days, but they have all helped us out
from day to day. On this day we can show that we appreciate them and
all they do during the year. |

After all they have done for you all
year, many times without your thanks, it is time to show you really
appreciate them. If you have a small business, a small gift is okay,
as long as it is not too cheap or shows no feeling. Bosses, the more
you make, the more you should show your appreciation. Don't let
anyone fool you, money talks, and more expensive gifts will make for
happier Administrative Assistants. If you are a bad boss, it is many
times hard for a person to leave you, but if the person is a bad worker,
it is a lot easier for you to fire them. If you do not know what to
give them, let us provide you with a few gift ideas.
